Magnum, the UK's number one hand-held ice cream brand from Unilever UK, is launching a new on pack promotion, 'Win a VIP Getaway Everyday' to highlight the brand's indulgence credentials.

Supported by an £1 million marketing spend which includes a dedicated TV ad fronted by Hollywood A-Lister Eva Longoria, the promotion gets into full swing in July.

Anna Ford, Magnum Senior Brand Manager says: “The Magnum brand has been performing brilliantly in 2008 with value sales increasing by +12.8% year on year. With our VIP Getaway promotion, we aim to add further value to the category while supporting our core range and adding excitement to the freezer aisle throughout the summer.”

The promotion runs across the Magnum Classic, Magnum White, Magnum Ecuador Dark and Magnum Mayan Mystica ice creams on both singles and multipacks. Magnum Classic and Magnum White are the number 1 and 2 impulse ice cream products in the market and Magnum Classic is the number 1 multipack; the VIP Getaway promotion therefore supports the must stock lines in the market.

The promotion has been designed to keep Magnum ice cream top of mind by engaging consumers and driving repeat purchase with its simple mechanic.

A unique code printed on each Magnum stick can be entered online or via text. From 1st July to 31st August a VIP Getaway can be won everyday and one can be won every week from 1st September to 28th December. The lucky winners will experience a 3 night luxury break to a choice of one of four European destinations.

The promotion support includes 10 second TV, 6 sheet posters in proximity to CTNs and at Service Stations and press ads all featuring the Magnum VIP, Eva Longoria throughout July. The support package allows core Magnum lines to benefit from the power of Eva Longoria in the market.

The Magnum range is priced at £1.25 (RRP) for singles and £1.99 (RRP) for Classic and White 3x120ml multi packs, while Magnum Ecuador Dark and Magnum Mayan Mystica are priced at £2.79 (RRP) for 3x110ml multi packs.

I too am trying to enter the codes on the Magnum sticks on line - but have been searching for nearly half an hour and cannot find any way to do this. Your help would be most appreciated. It is definitely not easy to find.

Dear Jacquie and Doreen, Not too easy to find the right website. Log on to http://www.mymagnum.co.uk/index.html and then click on the Magnum advert. This will then allow you to entre the code.

Ummm. . . is it supposed to be a 8 digit or 10 digit code??? Mine is a 8 digit :S Does any one know why?

letters on stick illegible,therefore texts returned unknown and site cannot be displayed rip off!
