Co-op invests in mini-banks |

The Co-operative Group has said that it will splash out about £1m on the creation of small banks within a selection of its stores. Following trials at outlets such as Nottingham, Hove and Brighton, the company said that the special counters may eventually be placed in about 250 branches. Some of the stores will have machines while others could offer a wider range of services including manned desks with help available on matters such as insurance and mortgages. And the new mini-banks could offer Co-Operative Society members an element of encouragement to open up bank accounts with the company, a spokesperson explained. Related Articles

Co-op may be good at... Co-op may be good at fair trade but they know nothing about banks! I know from bitter experience. |
